Tenia Nelson

Tenia Nelson's band SPHERIO is a Denver based group that focuses on arranging and playing the music of Thelonious Sphere Monk. The band has been together since 2015 and has performed in Denver's best jazz clubs and the 2017 Five Points Jazz Festival. Their self-produced first album Spherio Volume 1 receives regular airplay on 89.3 FM KUVO. SPHERIO features pianist Tenia Nelson, a long time Denver native and music educator on the keys. The band also includes Bob Songster on bass, who is originally from St. Louis, and Swiss born Andreas Schmid on drums.
