Jacopo Ferrazza

Born in 1989, Jacopo Ferrazza is a European double bassist and composer. In 2018, he won the SIAE award as the Best Italian Talent and was ranked several times among the three best talents by Musica Jazz magazine.

He studied bass and double bass with his father Angelo, John Patitucci, Aldo Perris, and Ares Tavolazzi and graduated in classical double bass with M° Luca Cola at the conservatory of Frosinone in 2015. He also obtained a degree in classical piano with M° Carlo Negroni in 2016.

Over the years, he has collaborated with major international artists such as: Dave Liebman, Fabrizio Bosso, Nicola Piovani, Enrico Rava, George Garzone, Enrico Pieranunzi, Greg Hutchinson, Camille Bertault, Paolo Fresu, Maurizio Giammarco, Logan Richardson, Nico Gori, Javier Girotto, Rosario Giuliani, Roberto Gatto, Rita Marcotulli, Mario Biondi and many others. He has recorded over 40 albums as a sideman and five as a leader. He has been a conservatory lecturer since 2019, a lecturer on jazz ensemble music at Frosinone Conservatory Licinio Refice since 2022.
