Mandolinist Bryce Rabideau is a versatile and creative voice in Pittsburgh's jazz and progressive folk scenes. Since moving from Boston in 2011, he has played and recorded with a number of renowned acts including The Skyliners, Joy Ike, and Bindley Hardware Company. As a member of Buffalo Rose, he played stages across the country and recorded on all the band’s releases including The Soil and the Seed (2018), Big Stampede (2019) and Borrowed and Blue (2020). He has spent an extensive amount of time exploring jazz, hip-hop, and neo-soul music on the mandolin in an effort to find the niches that the instrument has not yet inhabited. His string trio, featuring guitarist John Bagnato and bassist Jason Rafalak, was selected to perform a suite of original compositions as part of the New Hazlett Theater’s 2021-2022 CSA season.

Bryce holds a degree in jazz guitar performance from Duquesne University, where he studied with guitarist Joe Negri, trumpeter Sean Jones and saxophonist/arranger Mike Tomaro. His recent compositions and arrangements can be found in the 2021 radio drama Ms. Palmer's Honey and educational programming from Pittsburgh-based startup Codejoy.
